VOTE YES ON PROPOSITION 8
§
Having tolerance without condoning.
We can love someone while still maintaining and advocating our standards and beliefs.
§ Unless Proposition 8 passes, California society will soon undergo a profound change in its basic understanding of marriage and family life.
That will affect everyone in numerous ways. Over time, greater acceptance of nontraditional marriage will be demanded of all people. This could impact the ability of any religion to teach and practice its beliefs.
§ Proposition 8 will not hurt gays.
In
§ Failure to pass Proposition 8 will hurt children.
If gay marriage remains legal, public schools will put it on equal footing with traditional marriage. Children will likely receive “age appropriate” information about sexual relations within heterosexual and homosexual marriages. (This is already happening in Mass. one man was hauled away in handcuffs after not wanting pamphlets on same sex marriage handed to his kindergartener. He was told it was against the law to protest where was his freedom of speech? Y'all want to home school?)
§ Failure to pass Proposition 8 will hurt churches.
The court’s decision will inevitably lead to conflicts with religious liberty and free speech rights. Society will become more and more hostile to traditional beliefs about marriage and family.
I have a strong testimony of family, Satan is powerful and has waged an all out war on the family we must not lie down we must fight back! Jesus Christ lives He loves us all. The battle is waging, the exciting thing is we know who will win, now who's on the Lord's side who!
I challenge all who read this to blog, facebook, whatever it is you do to get the word out vote yes on proposition 8 if nothing else we testify of family! http://newsroom.lds.org/ldsnewsroom/eng/

Hayden

On the 23rd of September 1998 I welcomed my first son into the world. We just celebrated his 10th birthday so I thought I'd list ten reasons I'm glad to have Hayden as a son
10- he makes me laugh the other day Jay told Mason to stay out of the back of his truck saying "the only thing back there is disappointment and grease" too which Hayden, standing close by with his buddy Devin quipped "yeah just like Devin's life".
9-a great student
8-the best older brother especially to his buddy Mason
7-hard worker
6-reads his scriptures
5-tries hard to make people feel included and happy if they are sad
4- makes friends easily I went in for his birthday treat at school and his teacher told me that there was a new kid in school and Hayden had really gone the extra mile to make him feel included and welcome.
3-he listens during family home evening
2-he's obedient and tries his best to do what he's asked
1-just an amazing kid I'm so glad that he's my son and that Heavenly Father let me be the one to raise such an amazing young man!
Happy Birthday (late)
Fall

Fall! I love it when the leaves change and sweaters come out, General Conference, hot apple cider, cooler (but not too cold) days and the sun goes down just a little sooner. Jay took the three older kids up the canyon (while Mason and I took a nap) I haven't posted pictures for so long so I thought it best to post what I had! If anyone is aware of a school that I could send my kids to for a quick course on smiling I would love the number, the fake, cheesies are getting old. (Hannah's dead serious about her leaves!)

Singing Stand
Ok I think this is pretty smart although it's rather embarrassing. I went outside to find my niece (Kristy's, Brynn) and Megan doing a singing stand. If you like their singing you are supposed to put a dollar in the jar. I thought it was cheaper for me than lemonade and figured they wouldn't make any money on their idea. They however have made at least 10 bucks now and I haven't even put any money in the jar. Hannah and Hayden saw the financial benefits and got in on the act as well. This reminds me of a time that Hayden was doing a lemonade stand with his buddies. I went to pick him up and he wasn't at the stand further inquiry led me to understand that he was going door to door pre-selling lemonade to ward members and then dutifully took them their pre-purchased beverage. Crazy kids!

Brazillian Lemonade
2 limes-wash and cut the ends off. Then quarter and put in blender with the skins.
Add 3 Tbsp of sweet and condensed milk, 3 cups water and 1/2 cup sugar. Blend for about 1 minute. STRAIN using a wire mesh strainer, pour over ice and enjoy. Makes about 1 quart. If you do four batches it ends up using the whole can of s&c milk and makes about a gallon.

Spicy Cashew Chicken
sesame seed oil
1 t ginger (I use fresh from the produce section it comes in little jars already grated so if you need to use powder use 1/2 t)
1 cup chicken stock
1 T sugar
1 T white vinegar
2 T soy sauce
2 T corn starch
1/4 t cayenne pepper (can kick this up to make it spicier)
Cashews
bell pepper, onion, garlic (I don't use but I know it was in the original recipe), snow peas, asparagus, shrimp is good in this (add last 3-4 minutes)! Whatever you want I just use about 2 cups total veggies for my family.
Heat sesame oil until smoking (about a T can add more if needed) pat the chicken dry with a paper towel so it doesn't make the grease pop when you throw it in the pan. Add the ginger (cook until chicken is done) only takes 5-7 minutes) remove chicken from pan put into a bowl cover with tin foil set aside. put some more sesame oil in the pan and get it smoking hot add any or all veggies that you want and cook till crisp tender put garlic in whenever you want I guess. mix all remaining ingredients together (except cashew) wisk well so the corn starch doesn't clump add chicken and any juice that's come out of it back to the pan pour in sauce and stir on med hi heat until it thickens. I eyeball the veggies so it's just how ever much all together will equal enough to feed your family. I cook up 2 cups of long grain rice (not the instant stuff) and serve it over rice topped with cashews! I double this all the time and the original recipe only called for 1/4 cup chicken stock so I upped the stock and the corn starch to make more sauce. oh sesame oil is really cheap at the oriental markets but pretty pricey in the grocery store there is an asian market on about 5 north and state street south of weinerschnitzel here in Orem.
