family history

I'm teaching the adult gospel doctrine class on sunday and it's on family history and temple work.  I think most people are doing it and have a testimony of it or hear the topic and immediately tune out! I found 9 ways to make family history more exciting and one of them was to blog.  I came back to my blog that I left 2 years ago!  All of my family history is still here I have much to add like the fact that I've miscarried and had another baby girl Martha Ann who will be 6 months old tomorrow.  I just spent the last half hour reading through posts from 2008 and so very grateful that I recorded the happenings of my little family I have been keeping a journal since 2012 so I didn't miss as much as it looks like but I've decided that I need to keep posting to this little blog so that one day I can send a link to the kids and they can go back through and read about their happenings complete with

pictures!  Grateful that I was was dedicated to blogging for a bit so I have at least something to look back at rather than nothing at all.  Martha was a little lion for halloween it was clearly a boy lion so I stuck a flower on her head;)  not that it mattered it was cold when we when out so she was bundled up tight!

Mothers day

I have to post Mason's gift to me because it's so cute what my five year old came up with. His pre-school teacher asked him the following questions about me and this is how he replied: How old is your mom? 25; How tall? 6 feet tall; Weight? 5 pounds (yes I'm very tall and willowy) Dress size? 5; How many brothers and sisters? 5; Where was she born? Hospital (duh) Favorite food? Salad; Favorite TV show? Basketball; Favorite thing to do? Dishes (well I do them a lot it must be my favorite thing to do?; Best friend? The one who's really close to us; and last of all list a talent...cleaning up Mason's lego's and doing laundry. There you have it a little post all about me!!!

Keeping up

When you start blogging again you have to remind yourself that everyone thinks that your last post is where you're at in life (Kristy time to update your blog fyi) Anyhow this week I miscarried I know that this can be really hard on some people. Thankfully through a priesthood blessing I feel very at peace! I actually feel better physically than I have in weeks. Bed rest is quite a challenge I don't envy the women who have to endure that to get their families here! Doing well and very happy to be back taking care of my family there are a lot of things that other people can do and did for us but nothing beats my homemade pizza very excited for dinner tonight!;)

Thought provoking

If you feel like you're in the midst of a trial that's over whelming you and need some recharge take a minute to look around you and be grateful for your own trials. I think at the end of the day we'd all rather pick up our own bag of trials rather than exchange ours for someone elses. For instance today I picked up the newspaper and as is my habit I read through the obits. Halfway through one about a sweet 10 week old baby I realize it's the son of some friends of our back when we were very first married. This is the 3rd son that they have sent home to our Father in Heaven the peace and love of the Savior they exemplify is so profound. I read through the entire blog, and a whole lot of tissue but had such gratitude for their perspective and strength. If you need a lift today maybe take a minute and read through http://megamindsatthewhitehouse.blogspot.com/. Thankful for my healthy little ones and that this baby of ours is hanging in there. Glad to be surrounded by generous loving people and most of all thankful for my testimony of the Savior and the peace that only He can bring!

Today

So today I start into my second week of bed rest. That's right for those that don't know we're expecting our 6th baby (unfortunately the due date is September 22nd so my plan to blog every month has been disrupted if this one would've been born in August that would have been better course Miles came 5 weeks early and gave us February so maybe there's still a chance). Anyhow I was having some bleeding last week and had an ultrasound done the baby looks great but there was a small tear in the placenta so they are keeping me down for a couple weeks. The theory is that the tear will heal and I'll be able to return to normal activity. Thankfully I have the most amazing ward ever and of course my mom we have been so well taken care of! Miles is actually doing better, when he's home he'll come and lay next to me on the couch or the bed and bring me a book. Not one to cuddle much it's good to see him adjusting this way. I brought this upon myself we were cutting down all the trees between us and the neighbors because they were trash trees and dangerously tall banging into my window whenever there was a storm. I decided to load logs into the wheelbarrow causing the tear. Just some things NOT to say to me when you read this "AGAIN?" " was this planned? (yes for over a year) "I thought you were done having kids" "wow you're brave 6? really" "I guess 6 is the new 10" "I don't know how you're going to handle 6 I can barely keep track of 2,3,4..." Funny you think but yes in the week I've started telling people I've heard them all and well just know that you were warned if you decide to come up with a brilliant comment! I just might snap!

Miles

Miles turned 2 this week without to much fan fare. I remembered all week and then the day of his birthday I forgot for the first hour we were up! Luckily he is 2 and has no clue that it was his birthday. He is such a precious boy he still does not say to many words but he knows exactly what I'm saying. If I say "Miles should we have waffles for breakfast?" He'll race over and drag the waffle iron out. Muffins? He'll get the muffin tins out, pancakes? he'll grab the wheat grinder! If I mention going outside which is his most favorite thing to do he brings me his shoes, socks, and coat. He's a curious boy and can often be found higher than I thought he would be capable of, trying to get whatever it is that's just out of reach usually a treat. I'll come in to find him drinking out of the syrup bottle, the bottle of lemon juice, the milk jug or simply playing a tune on the pots and pans with a wooden spoon! We love him and are so grateful for his spirit and the joy he brings to our home!! Happy 2nd birthday sweet boy! (after adding the picture I realized I had some explaining to do he was running full speed on the concrete and tripped a couple days before his birthday hence the battered face!)

Mason

It seems like now a days I only post on the kids birthday's maybe if I have a kid every month of the year I'll at least blog once a month. I'm 2 behind now but an explanation of that will come later if I don't get interrupted. Mason was very brave getting his kindergarten shots the other day he barely flinched, didn't cry out or get upset. The nurses were very impressed. He is doing great in pre-school and learning all of his letter sounds. I didn't think he was learning them as fast as he should and mentioned that to my friend. She loaned me a dvd from leap frog that is amazing! Mason knew all of his sounds in a couple days. He's having a great time putting them together to form words. The other day I saw him trying to sound out the words on the tv to see what the show was about!
He had a fun birthday party with half the neighborhood. We decided to do a pajama party which was a huge success (this shot is him entertaining the crowd isn't he so funny?)

Mason is a great helper he's always willing to do his chores and is great about sticking with a task. He was mopping the floor for me the other day got it all cleaned up and then left to go play at a friends. While he was gone his sisters ran through the house without taking off their shoes and managed to track some mud in. He walks through the door turns around to shut the door, sees the mud and exclaims "I JUST MOPPED THIS FLOOR!?" It was awesome! Mason is a peacemaker unless he's playing clobbering time with Hayden and loves to play with his friends especially his buddy Jens! He is joy to have in our home and we love him! Happy fifth birthday Maso Peso!
